WALKER BAY 8

Design

The Walker Bay 8 manufactured in Canada to meet the requirements of the many boating enthusiasts who wish to own a rugged, hardwearing boat which requires little maintenance, yet provides a stable hullform and has low drag for easy rowing. The Walker Bays can also be used with an outboard or with the optional sailing kits.

Construction

Polypropylene plastic is used throughout - the hull being manufactured in one piece in a massive moulding machine. The seats are thickened mouldings in two halfs for extra strength.

Reinforcement

The bolted in seats provide a rigid structure and the standard transom plates allow fitment of outboards up to 2 hp.

Buoyancy

Positive flotation to ensure boat will float even if completely filled with water.  Additional air tanks may be specified if required to support an outboard.

Length Overall:  2530mm  (8 foot 4 inches)

Beam:  1320mm (4foot 4 inches)

Payload

The Walker Bay 8  has a calm weather payload of 183kg.  This weight includes all crew, outboard and equipment.

Weight: 32 - 40 kg depending upon options chosen.

Outboard: 2 horsepower recommended maximum

Oars: 1.8m length are ideal - will stow within the boat, on the seats.

2.4m maximum length for rough sea conditions.
